Can real cleaning power be combined with luxury?
I love my bathroom to be clean and to smell delicious – remember the bad old days when all bathroom products smelled of pine? Iron & Velvet have made their bathroom surface cleaner with Ylang Ylang perfume. It has been designed to remove limescale (essential for me as our water is really hard) & kill germs.
I was more excited then I have ever been about cleaning materials when the box arrived. The sturdy box revealed tight balls of tissue paper at the top. The four products were each one in a sealed plastic bag, then wrapped in tissue. More tissue between the bottles stopped them moving in transit and there was more at the bottom. My first job was to smooth out all the tissue (as a child on the 1950′s I recycle without thinking about it) I will use it (and the plastic bags) for wrapping gifts and for E Bay sales!
The bathroom cleaner spray bottle contains 500ml of solution and it is a pretty pink colour. I found this to be brilliant for cleaning the tiles. My o/h often washes his hair in the washbasin with lots of suds and then vigorous head dunking! The tiles behind the washbasin were gungy in the white grout lines and it wiped away easily.
I had not really noticed how shampoo had clogged up the white bits!
The bath was next and it again cleaned easily. This week has been very warm and sunny here. The bathroom window faces south so I tend to keep the window open and the curtain drawn across. When the sun went in I drew the curtain back and actually gaped at how REALLY clean the bath was.
The Ylang Ylang scent is light and delicious – the essential oil is used to lower high blood pressure and calm anxiety. Very relaxing in a bathroom cleaner.
This is the third product I have tried for the lovely people at Iron & Velvet .

£7.49 for 500 ml – as with all three products I have tried it goes a very long way. The spray is easy to use and you can angle it in our smallish washbasin and spray the underside of the taps where limescale lurks. I can recommend this product, really cleans without scrubbing, smells lovely and kills bacteria – I just love this one!
